Three WVUSC teams will represent West Virginia at this weekend’s Region 1 Tournament, in Barboursville, WV.  WVUSC Vision are the WV U18 Girls state champions, WVUSC Shox are the WV U13 Girls state champions, and the WVUSC Blue are the WV U12 Boys 8v8 state champions.  Each team will participate in an opening ceremony on Thursday at Marshall’s football stadium, with group games being played on July 3, 4 and 5.  Any team that advances would play in the semi-finals on July 6.  Good luck to all three of our WVUSC teams!

Three WVUSC teams won league titles, in the Spring 2009 season.  The WVUSC U12 Boys Blue team won their PA West U12 Boys Division 1 league, completing the season with a perfect record of 8 wins, 0 losses and 0 ties.  The WVUSC Jaguars U12 Girls won the PA West South District U12 Girls Division B title, with a record of 5 wins, 1 loss and 1 tie.  The WVUSC Shox U13 Girls won the West Virginia Country Roads State League U13 Girls title, with a record of 3 wins, 0 losses and 0 ties.  Several other WVUSC teams posted strong league showings, with the WVUSC U13 Boys finishing 3rd in PA West Division 1, and the WVUSC Elite U11 Girls finishing 3rd in their PA West U11 Girls Division A league.  All in all, it was a very succesful season for the club!

The WVUSC Shox U13 Girls finished as runners-up at the prestigious Empire Cup tournament in Rochester, NY, the weekend of June 20-21.  After winning their bracket with a perfect record of 3 wins, the Shox lost to the Burlington Tornados in the final.  The Tornados are the Ontario Provincial Champions.  The Shox defeated teams from London (Ontario), Syracuse and Rochester, on their way to the final.  Congratulations to the Shox!
