The Shox Gold team brought home the Fair Play Award for the U12 Girls Division at the annual US Youth Soccer Region 1 Tournament, held in Portland, Maine, June 26-July 1!  The Fair Play award is given to the team that best conducts themselves in a sportsmanlike manner.  Officials judge the participating teams on a variety of factors, including enthusiasm, respect for officials, promotion of safety and development of skills, and appreciation for opponents.  The Region 1 Committee determines the winner of the award, based on the reports of officials at the fields.  Shox Gold were also one of only four West Virginia teams to win a game at the tournament, defeating Maine 7-0.  They also led all WV teams in scoring.  Congratulations to the Shox Gold U12 Girls!
